This tiny cafe is located close to Noksapyeong subway station in Itaewon. Climb up a steep little road and look out for the sign with the Shiba dogs on it. It’s located on the second floor of the building.
The main attraction here are the Shiba Inu dogs belonging to the owner. There were 3, hence the name of the cafe, but there are actually 4 there.
We arrived on a weekday morning and there was only one other customer in the cafe. The owner greets you on entry and explains you have to wash your hands on entry, not hug the dogs, and the usual rules for a sensible trip to an animal cafe.
On their Instagram it states it is a no kid cafe. I went with my son who is 12 and it wasn't mentioned but I imagine toddlers might be an issue.
The dogs were all lying about the cafe in patches of sun when we arrived, clearly extremely relaxed. I had read a review commenting on their poor condition, but I can honestly say they were glossy, well fed and looked really healthy.
They were clearly not stressed at all, and do have a sectioned off area with a sofa in it to retreat to if they need it.
The cafe offers a small selection of coffees and teas. When we were there the only food options were walnut cakes and malenka cake, although there may be more on offer at busier times?
My son opted for the traditional walnut cakes, which contain a walnut half, a cube of butter, and some walnut paste.
They were fine, but you don’t really come here for the food.
The dogs were not really interested in being petted so we left them alone and just admired their cuteness. I can’t bear it when people poke animals and follow them around in cafes, which unfortunately seems to be quite common here.
The view over the local intersection is impressive if not very scenic. Whilst this is a cute concept and the dogs are beautiful, it really is a one visit kind of cafe unless you live nearby and want to take your laptop to do some work.
